Conditioner Help Please

Ok. Maybe it's just me but my hair never feels really conditioned. I know I'm comparing it to my relaxed hair and that soft feeling, but my hair now doesn't feel that way. Like I said...maybe it's just me.

But, I'm curious what do other natural ladies do to condition their hair? Something that lasts all day. I want that soft feeling but something that will condition my hair also.

What do you use?

I'm a 4A/B so moisture is always an issue. I find that sealing with a combo of coconut oil, shea and mango butters has really helped. I usually put some kind of leave-in on first, follow up with the oil/butter mix and some IC aloe gel and it stays nice for days. Although...I can't find the right process for second day hair...lol

I have 3b/3c hair and my crown area is the part that drys out the most.

My usual morning routine is wet hair, apply oils (Olive, Coconut or Tui hair oil, sometimes shea butter), leave in conditioner, then IC. I'm still trying to find an effective combo.

Allum, Do you DC? I DC condition once a week. Also, for me I have to have humectancts. Glycerin is my preferred one. Honey, too. My hair can't handle shea butter but prefers oils (jojoba, olive, avocado, almond, etc.).

Looking at your routine, maybe apply the leave-in and then the oils and see if that helps. Oils are typically used as a sealant. Sometimes you just have to keep playing around until you find what works for your hair.

Last night, I tried the leave in then the oils and when I woke up this morning, my hair was softer. go figure. lol. I also combed my hair for the first time in a few weeks. Maybe that helped also. ;) thanks!
